Russian Far East to Wrangel Island - Heritage Expeditions

Our entry point into Russia and a bustling city of roughly 13K people. We just passed through Anadyr and then went to the harbor where we were greeted by beluga whales who occasionally popped up to check things out. I never did get a good shot of them but I do remember how inquisitive they were.

In 2010, we flew to Nome, Alaska and boarded a small charter plane to take our group to Anadyr, Russia. In Anadyr, we boarded the "Spirit of Enderby (Professor Khromov)" on an expedition to Wrangel Island - an island where polar bears breed and that has the highest density of polar bear dens in the world.
