Roadside Balinese Macaques outside of Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia Watching the family grooming was really what motivated me to photograph these macaques but then the little guy peeked up at me. I don't think he thought I saw him... but I got it!
Balinese macaques are all over the island of Bali. Some are friendly; most are not. I'd strongly recommend against interacting with any of them. And, I'd also highly recommend leaving anything of value, or anything that dangles, back at the hotel.
Having said that, this group was relatively timid. We were well outside of the main tourist areas and really just at a roadside stop where locals (and occasional tourists) feed a troop of macaques that have come to hang out there. Which came first is another question...
