Balinese Macaques at the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

The macaques in the Sacred Monkey Forest are very used to tourists. They sleep in areas where people are talking, playing, and feeding them. They are not shy. And, they have big teeth. Let them sleep and don't even think about touching them. They don't sleep that deeply!

Balinese macaques are all over the island of Bali. Some are friendly; most are not. I'd strongly recommend against interacting with any of them. And, I'd also highly recommend leaving anything of value, or anything that dangles, back at the hotel.
